PESHAWAR: Khalid Aziz, chairman of the Regional Institute of Policy Research & Training (RIPORT), Peshawar is presently visiting Poland on the invitation of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make presentations on a host of regional and security issues.
A press release said he would deliver a set of talks during his one-week visit to apprise Polish state institutions and its think-tanks about the regional security situation in the context of Afghanistan post-2014, Pakistan’s relations with India, Pakistan’s future relations with the United States, the internal security situation in Pakistan, civil-military relations in Pakistan, assistance to Afghanistan by Pakistan in the proposed peace talks with Taliban, Pakistan’s newly elected government’s efforts to hold peace talks with Pakistani Taliban and its consequences, and the role of the US, particularly in execution of its drone strategy.
Khalid Aziz, who served as chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before his retirement from service, delivered one of his talks at theCollegium Civitas, a college for advanced studies in international and South Asian Studies. He also spoke at a seminar at the Polish Institute of International Relations, Warsaw, the Centre of Poland – Asia Studies, the National Defence Academy, the Warsaw University and the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. He also met senior government officials and scholars and participated in activities related to Polish Independence Day.
